And many of those are expensive homes that have been run down and need expensive upgrading in water and electric. This house is in a great and older neighborhood, with many of the homes having been several remodels. Many are multi-generational homes owned by residents. Great place to raise kids! Nearby schools, parks, restaurants and a twenty-minute walk to the Chula Vista Mall and AMC multi-theater. Toward 5 are natural shoreline sanctuaries (Chula Vista is on two migration trails for birds and butterflies) restaurants and a bar with outdoor live music. The city of Chula Vista has put in a billion dollars + and partners are putting in even more into building up the land that had been aging steel buildings. Future buildings that will offer visitors more than 1,000 rooms in hotels with a large conference center and restaurants with more live music. The area will even have its own police station! The need for homes and apartments in and around this area are expected to increase as thousands of employees report for work. When considering other (less expensive) homes in the area, do your commute before you buy - there’s a nearby hotel that is always booked. If you are pre-approved, spend the night. The house is empty, so it will be more like camping. You are a five minute drive to the Hwy. 5 on-ramp. A very good thing when considering other less expensive homes - Do the commute from the other houses and you’ll learn why the Chula Vista Beach house is worth the uptick in price. You are a 13-minute-drive to the Chula Vista Marina and restaurants. Check out the prices of boats - prices are coming down! Plan weekends in Los Angeles, Santa Monica…San Francisco, Sausalito…. Get your sailing lessons nearby. Sailing a boat will change your life. AIRBNB seems to be taking the overflow of tourists in from San Diego (just a few exits away) who can't even find a hotel or an available Airbnb locally. The need for homes and apartments in and around this area are expected to increase as thousands of employees look for housing close to work. The Chula Vista outdoor mall is a 15 minute walk.
