    The Grimshaw-Kraemer House was originally built on Broadway near Anaheim Blvd (then known as Los Angeles Street) by Emma Mary Kraemer, daughter of Daniel Kraemer, a pioneer of Placentia with business ties to Anaheim and Emma’s husband, Thomas Grimshaw. Thomas was the proprietor of the Anaheim Planing Mill. The Grimshaw Family occupied the home for generations until 1934. In 1998, thru the preservation efforts of the Anaheim Historical Society, the Grimshaw House was moved to its current location, marking the “gateway” to the Anaheim Colony Historic District, and restored, at that time, for an amount, reportedly, of $283,000. Restored meant that an old house received a new foundation with retrofitting, electrical, plumbing, roofing and creature comforts of today such as central air and heat, inside laundry room. The family that took on this project still owns this majestic home today and has added approximately 1500 square feet of garages with full bathroom, a state of the art salt water pool and spa, covered built in bar-b-que, RV parking and more located on a large lot of 16,509 square feet. The Grimshaw House has the Mills Act, a contract for preservation with the City of Anaheim.
