Agent Remarks: You know how real estate agents sometimes use old headshots on their business cards that don't look exactly like them in real life anymore? We do this because the cosmetic fixing we have to do to update our business cards costs both time and money, and frankly, most of us would rather being doing other things. Same principle applies to the photos we’re using for 5 Wimbledon. None of these pictures are current and most of them are 10 years old. Simply put, 10 years ago, there was less stuff in the house and the old photos look better! Certainly, the owner could have chosen to declutter, repaint, put in new carpet and stage the home, but he decided he’d rather save himself the time and money, and pass along the savings to you! Sure, what was once considered a stylish Tuscan burnt sienna accent wall now looks a bit more like just plain old dark orange, and the carpet is certainly worse for the wear. But like getting a haircut or buying a new suit before your headshot, not a big deal given the home’s excellent bones! What HAS been done in the last 10 years are some big-ticket items: The house was entirely repiped, new kitchen appliances were installed, a brand-new AC was installed last year, and the house was consistently well-maintained.
